Create your first project

Turn a job into a project with dates, an assigned team, and tasks.

Available on all plans.

Admins, and members with access to projects.

What a project is

A project is a unit of work for one client: a spring cleanup, a bathroom remodel, a weekly mowing contract. Projects collect the tasks, quotes, and invoices for that job so you can see its whole story in one place.

Create the project

  1. Go to Projects and click Create Project.
  2. Pick the Client. If the client has more than one property, choose which one this job is for.
  3. Give the project a title, and a description if it helps.
  4. Choose One-off for a single job or Recurring for work that repeats on a schedule.
  5. Set the start date, and an end date if you know it.
  6. Assign the teammates who will do the work, then create the project.

Track it on the board

Projects move through four statuses: Planned, In Progress, Completed, and Cancelled. On the board view, drag a project between columns to update its status as the job moves along.

Add tasks to the project

Open the project and use Add Task to break the job into scheduled steps. Each task gets a date, an optional time window, and an assignee. Tasks roll up to the project and also appear on the shared Tasks page and calendar.
